Mr Harry Goodey with his barge horse. Barge horses towed barges laden with coal, timber and other goods on the River Lea between London and Hertford. Barges often moored near Waltham Lock overnight and the horses were stabled at the rear of The Old English Gentleman Public House. This picture c1950.
